The City of Huntington and Pathfinder Services, Inc.

 reach two- year Recycling extension agreement

Huntington Mayor Terry Abbett met with Pathfinder Services, Inc. Recycling and Refuse Division Director Steve Stanley, and the City Board of Public Works and Safety on Monday to extend the City of Huntington’s Recycling contract. The agreement will allow Pathfinder Services, Inc. to continue to collect Recycling for city residents through December 31st , 2008.

Stanley commented on the contract renewal stating, “This will allow Pathfinder Services to continue our relationship with the City of Huntington and allow us to provide Recycling to residents of the City. We will continue to fulfill our mission and continue to employ adults with disabilities in our Recycling division.”

Also at the meeting, the Board approved the Pathfinder Services, Inc. Garbage rate contract with the Huntington Community School Corporation at $5.00 per cubic yard. Currently, Pathfinder Services is paying $6.00 per cubic yard for all other contracts to the Huntington City landfill. Pathfinder Services Inc. is a local not for profit organization specializing in working with people with disabilities. The Recycling and Refuse Division of Pathfinder Services Inc. has provided recycling to residents of the City of Huntington since 1989.
