Pathfinder Resource Connection, the employment division of not-for-profit Pathfinder Services, is offering individualized benefit counseling to assist those seeking employment.
Pathfinder Resource Connection specializes in assisting people with and without disabilities in finding and retaining employment. Specific assistance is provided to job seekers as well as additional training as needed once employment is gained. Benefit counseling is a service available to assist people in understanding how returning to work may affect federal and state benefits such as Social Security Disability Insurance, Supplemental Security Income, and Medical Insurance.
“The goal of our Benefit Counseling Service here at Pathfinder Resource Connection is to help people explore and understand their current benefits,” stated Marla Fahl, Benefit Counselor for Pathfinder Resource Connection. “Then, once an employment opportunity becomes available, we work with the individual to maximize their benefits and ease the fear that can come with this change.”

Pathfinder Community Connections, the Community Development division of Pathfinder Services, will be hosting a three part Financial Fitness Workshop on March 3rd, 10th and 17th. The focus is on overall financial wellness with an emphasis on building and improving credit scores to work toward home ownership. This workshop consists of three sessions of three hours each and is designed for anyone in the community who would like to improve their financial situation.
The workshop will take place at Pathfinder Community Connections located at 1005 W. Rudisill Blvd., Suite 301 in Fort Wayne (the old Taylor University Campus).
The three sessions will take place from 5:30PM to 8:30PM on March 3rd, 10th and 17th. Topics for the workshop include:
-How credit reporting works and how to achieve a healthier credit score.
-Learn to track expenses and identify spending leaks.
-Establish financial goals and a spending plan.
-Review lender expectations for obtaining a mortgage.
